Here's the menu that I've selected for the Sunday lunch. They will prepare for twenty of each. Hopefully there is something here for everyone.

Rooms Reserved

I have reserved a party room at Valentino's on 70th and Van Dorn for 4:30pm on Saturday, July 18. We can have that as long as we need it, but that's the latest time we can reserve for arrival. I figure some of us can make it by that time and the rest can straggle in as they're able. It's a buffet so everyone can eat at their leisure. Anyone who wishes to arrive earlier in the day can meet at the Fun Center for lunch and play time.

Sunday we have a conference room reserved for the whole day in the Peter Kiewit Lodge at Mahoney State Park. Lunch will be at 1:00pm in a buffet style so if people are a little later coming from church it should still work fine. Mahoney is about 30 minutes from Lincoln.

The aquatic center at Mahoney is open from 12-5 and 6-8.

Hope this works for everyone. I'm not completely locked in yet...I have reserved the times but not signed anything on Mahoney yet, so let me know if something is a problem for anyone.

Possible Venue

I received two responses to the previous post. Neither was in favor of the Fun Center.

I have checked into Mahoney State Park. The 18th is not available. We can rent a conference room on Sunday the 19th in the Peter Kiewit Lodge for ~$120 for the day plus $10-$15 per person for catered meal. We are not allowed to bring food into the Lodge.

An outdoor covered space is $50 and we can bring our own food. It's also only available on Sunday the 19th. Remember it's July in Eastern Nebraska. Think 95 degrees and 80% humidity.

I'll wait for responses from at least five people before reserving one or the other. If I don't get five responses in a timely manner then lets all just plan on meeting at Valentino's at 70th and Van Dorn at noon on the 18th. We'll wing it from there.

Perhaps we're just not that into each other. :)

How does this look for a possible venue? I haven't checked on availability.

Based on the feedback I've received to date it appears that July 18, 2009 in Lincoln, NE is the most feasible for the most people. If that excludes you or causes undue hardship, please comment.

The above map puts Steve and Shirley's stars in Lincoln to reflect their preference to visit in-laws / friends in the area. The poll results are a little skewed by some (myself included) people's preference to turn this into a nice vacation to the beautiful state of Colorado. My current thinking is to focus on getting as many people together as possible and save the vacation for a separate date. This is certainly open to discussion.

If you need help in the form of plane tickets or a place to stay, let us know. We'll pass the hat among the local people who are advantaged by the location and see what we can come up with.

Also, if you want to fly into Omaha to save money on flights vs Lincoln I can serve as the local limo service to get you to your preferred destination.

Any ideas on specific venues for getting together would be appreciated.
